Ms. Srivastava specializes in services related to planning and real estate development for public agencies, private developers and landowners. She has managed various projects related to economic development, transit-oriented development, project feasibility studies, and downtown revitalization strategies. Her projects range from market studies for small cities in the United States to large-scale tourism development plans in Latin America. Recent projects have included an analysis of economic development opportunities for the City of Pleasant Hill; a feasibility study for a Mercado in Wichita, Kansas; an analysis of the economic impact of downtown office workers for the San Jose Redevelopment Agency; and a downtown retail strategy for the City of San Mateo.

Prior to joining Strategic Economics, Ms. Srivastava worked at Economics Research Associates, where she specialized in economic development, downtown revitalization strategies, ethnic retail analysis, and transit-oriented development projects. She also conducted several studies on tourism development, visitor attractions, and visitor spending impacts on retail.

Ms. Srivastava is currently working on the Economic Development Element for Redwood City’s General Plan. Other recent projects include a long-range market analysis for the City of San Carlos, California, to help guide future economic development planning; a retail strategy for ten subdistricts in Central Portland, Oregon; a joint development opportunities analysis at future BART stations in Santa Clara County, California; and economic analysis for the City of San Diego’s Barrio Logan Community Plan Update.

Ms. Srivastava holds a Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from the University of California at Berkeley. She received her B.A. from Mount Holyoke College magna cum laude in Politics. She speaks fluent Spanish, and is proficient in Portuguese and Hindi. She is a member of the American Planning Association, San Francisco Urban Research, and the Citizens Advisory Committee for the San Francisco Mayor’s Office of Community Investment.
