| As part of longer-term involvement in the region, Strategic Economics worked with a coalition of citizens groups, |
| elected officials, cities, counties, highway districts, and state agencies to write a grant proposal to the Federal |
| Highway Administration for a Transportation and Community Systems Preservation Pilot Program (TCSP) grant. |
| This group, Treasure Valley Futures, was awarded $500,000 and was one of fewer than 50 communities to receive |
| a TCSP grant from an initial pool of 520 applicants. The grant will enable the Treasure Valley to look at its |
| current growth trends regionally and to identify methods for overcoming the barriers that are currently preventing |
| individual communities in the region from meeting their own goals for the future as well as the goals of the TCSP |
| program. |
