Ms. Edwards specializes in retail market analysis, local economic development and transit-oriented development. She is currently working on economic development strategies for Japantown in San Francisco as part of the Better Neighborhoods Plan. The plan focuses on creating cultural and small business retention strategies to help Japantown continue its role as the center of the Japanese community in the Bay Area. Ms. Edwards recently completed retail strategies for the cities of Oakland, CA, Fremont, CA and Seattle, WA. Ms. Edwards is also working on General Plan updates for the cities of Chino and West Hollywood. For the past four years, Ms. Edwards has been working with the Environmental Protection Agency’s Smart Growth Implementation Assistance program to provide technical assistance to cities that want to implement smart growth principals into their communities.

Ms. Edwards received her Masters in City and Regional Planning with a concentration in local and regional economic development from the University of California, Berkeley and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park.
